Le Châble Resort

Le Châble, Suisse

Nestled in a small village just below Verbier is the scenic resort of Le Châble, famous for its charming surrounds and tranquil settings. Often seen as the quieter cousin of nearby Verbier, Le Châble avoids some of the hustle and bustle that can be associated with the busier skiing areas in peak season, making it the ideal destination for those who are after a relaxing break.

Le Châble is a ski station and with the new lift from Le Châble to Bruson has opened up the other side of the valley for skiing and makes Le Châble an increasingly popular place to ski from.

Although usually a place of calm, Le Châble forms part of the annual Mardi Gras festival and parade where beautifully decorated floats and colourful costumes pass through the resort during February.

During the summer months Le Châble is also a popular destination for cyclists and has formed part of the Tour De France route and Tour De Romandie more recently; it is also very popular with walkers and hikers of all abilities throughout the year which is unsurprising when considering the incredible ever-changing vistas on offer.

Should you wish to visit Verbier as well, it is merely a 15 minute journey by bus or car with buses leaving at regular intervals from the centre. Alternatively, take a quick four seated cable car which provides access to the main skiing or walking areas – just steps away from the station. With small, winding alleys and historic 15th century architecture, including the elegant gothic church, Le Châble is a feast for the eyes and the perfect holiday destination, framed by the magnificent Swiss Alps. Whether visiting in the summer months during the full bloom or the snow covered winter months for a season on the slopes either snowboarding or skiing, Le Châble has plenty to offer its guests.
